Alison Krauss
The first surge of popular recognition came from bluegrass singer Alison Krauss in 1990 when, at the age of 19 years old, she was able to walk away of the Grammy Awards with the trophy for Best Bluegrass Album. Krauss's third studio album I've Got That Old Feeling was awarded the prize, despite the fact that she was only 19 years of age. Too Late to Cry was her first album, released around age 16. Champaign Illinois resident's age of 16. Krauss had signed with Rounder Records, one of the top folk labels, when she was just fourteen. In addition, her achievements so young and her incredible virtuosity has always been measured by her devotion to bluegrass. Bluegrass is one of the oldest and most overlooked form of traditional American form of musical expression. Krauss had now matured from a teen phenom into an accomplished music producer and musician.
