
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 until January 19th, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. 1. Pleshette began her career in theatre and then began to appear in films in the late 1950s. She then appeared in prominent films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she appeared in different television productions, and was often acting as a guest. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 through 1978, where she received several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette, a daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of the couple were Jewish who were the children of immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was the stage director at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
